Psychometric Assessment Services
Ability testing
Ability testing provides a measure of selected areas of mental ability. Different tests are available for differing levels and roles including those appropriate for senior level executives, managers and graduate trainees, supervisors, sales, customer service and call centre staff and for information technology, production and administrative positions, allowing you to benchmark candidates against appropriate comparison groups.
Some of the most commonly used tests are those assessing the ability to deal with word based information and numbers, for example tests of verbal and numerical critical reasoning are widely used in selecting candidates for managerial and professional positions and different levels of verbal and numerical ability tests are available for supervisory, administrative, sales and operative roles.
Other examples of ability tests include measures of creative thinking, situational judgement, information technology skills tests, checking and clerical tests and tests of mechanical comprehension.
We can provide advice on the most appropriate tests for particular roles and can test candidates on client premises or off-site or provide on-line testing.
Occupational personality assessment
Whilst all jobs demand certain skills and abilities, personality and behavioural style factors are also important elements in successful performance.
Occupational personality questionnaires can provide a more comprehensive and deeper assessment of aspects of behaviour that may be crucial to success in a given role than an interview alone. They provide information on such areas as how a candidate typically relates to others, their thinking style and how they approach their work, their level of ambition and their susceptibility to tension and can assist in identifying:
- a candidate’s potential areas of strength and challenge in a given role
- critical areas for further exploration that may not have been uncovered in an interview
